The Board of Education of Coast Mountains School District is pleased to announce that former Superintendent Janet Meyer will lead the search for the school district’s next Superintendent of Schools following the recent resignation of Aaron Callaghan. As recently announced on May 27, Ms. Meyer will also serve as the school district’s Interim Superintendent, now confirmed to begin transitioning into the role on July 1 with duties and responsibilities taking effect July 17.
Board Chairperson Margaret Warcup noted, “The search for a new Superintendent will include a process that will involve all those with a vested interest in the success of our learners, including rights holders, Indigenous partners, students, parents, staff and community allies.”
The Board of Education, in consultation with Ms. Meyer, will be developing a recruitment plan that will result in the identification of the candidate whose skills and experiences are best suited for leadership in Coast Mountains School District. Development of the plan is being initiated and the goal is to have a successful candidate in place sometime in late Fall.
